LajkBus
Order rides within Skotniki quickly and easily thanks to the pilot LajkBus service. This new service has been implemented with residents’ convenience in mind and aims to improve access to public transport in areas where traditional buses cannot operate.
What is LajkBus?
LajkBus is a micro-mobility system that allows users to book a ride via a dedicated mobile application. Passengers can choose their pick-up point and destination from a list of designated locations. Thanks to the use of smaller vehicles, pick-up and drop-off points are possible on streets that are inaccessible to standard public transport buses. The LajkBus service is available in part of the Skotniki area. It allows travel within this area, as well as a transfer at the Czerwone Maki transport hub, where passengers can continue their journey using KMK public transport.
Area and hours of operation
The pilot project was launched in the Skotniki district. The selection of this area was preceded by detailed analyses carried out in cooperation with experts from the Jagiellonian University. In the first stage of the analysis, twelve areas of Kraków were considered, and in the final stage, two of them were compared. Ultimately, Skotniki was identified as the area with the greatest potential for implementing this form of transport.
The LajkBus service operates on weekdays, from Monday to Friday, between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
How to book a ride
To use LajkBus, download and open the mobile application from Google Play or the App Store, then:
- select the pick-up point and destination,
- choose the desired pick-up time or arrival time,
- confirm your booking.
Passengers can add additional travellers to their booking – up to six people per journey. If the selected pick-up location is not directly accessible, the app will indicate the nearest available meeting point, which must be reached on foot.
Fares
LajkBus journeys are subject to the same rules as public transport in Kraków. Passengers must hold a valid KMK ticket or a document entitling them to free travel for the duration of the journey.
